Why do we lie? We know that God does not like liars. We were commanded to tell the truth, yet still we tell lies. We want to appear to others that we are better than we really are. We lie on others to make them appear to be better or worse than they really are.
"These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbor ..." Zechariah 6:16
"Thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor..." Exodus 20:16
The Bible says that there is a special place reserved for liars, "... and all liars, shall have part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone ..." Revelation 21:8
We know this and yet we still tell lies. What is wrong with us? We truly need God's help to turn from our wicked ways.
