Blessed Are Those Who Mourn

"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted."  Matthew 5:4 (NIV)
Jesus Christ said this as part of His Sermon on The Mount.  He was speaking to His disciples and the multitude that had gathered around Him.

"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die ... a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn ... a time to embrace ... a time to love ... and a time for peace."  Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 (NIV)  Jesus said "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted" (Matthew 5:4), but you have to read the Bible to find out how He does it.  The Lord is the one who comforts us. (Isaiah 49:13)  He comforts all who mourn. (Isaiah 61:2)  There is comfort in His word (Psalms 119:52), in His promise (Psalms 119:50), and in His unfailing love. (Psalms 119:76)  God comforts us through the angels that He sends to talk to us. (Zechariah 1:13)  He also comforts us so that we can provide comfort to others. (2 Corinthians 1:6)  So as you mourn, know that you will be blessed and comforted.
