"... What does The Lord your God ask of you but to fear The Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, to love Him, to serve The Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe The Lord's commands and decrees ..." Deuteronomy 10:12-13 (NIV)
After presenting the two tablets of stone containing the ten commandments, a second time, and this time placing them in the ark of the covenant, Moses explained to the people of Israel what God requires of them. The five requirements are: "...fear The Lord...walk in all His ways...love Him...serve The Lord...and to observe The Lord's commands..."
The Lord God requires the same things of us today. Briefly restated we are to (1) hold God in awe and submit to Him; 2 to conduct our life in accordance with the will of God; 3 to love Him with all of our heart and soul above all else; 4 to worship Him as the focus of our life; and 5 to obey His commandments. God expects us to love, fear, obey, and worship Him.
