PROCLAMATION
“The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave Him
to show His servants what must soon take place.
He made it known by sending His angel to His servant John, who testifies
to everything he saw …” Revelation 1:1-2 (NIV)
EXPLANATION
These
are the words of the prophecy which was revealed to, and written by, the
Apostle John, under the influence of The Holy Spirit of God. In this, the
last Bible Book of The New Testament, John records the revelation of the things
which are to come according to the vision that he saw in his old age when he
was taken up in the spirit while he was on the island of Patmos. (Revelation
1:9-10) John was told by Christ to write
down the things were revealed to him in the vision. (Revelation 1:19)
