PROCLAMATION
“For there
are three that bear record in heaven, The Father, The Word, and The Holy Ghost;
and these three are one.” 1 John 5:7
(KJV)
EXPLANATION
These words
were written by the apostle John, under the inspiration of The Holy Spirit of
God, to all believers. In this fifth and
final chapter of his first letter, John begins by telling them that everyone
who believes that Jesus is The Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves
God, The Father, loves His Son as well. (1 John 5:1) If they love God, they will show it by loving
all of His children and by keeping His commands. (1 John 5:2-5) Then John tells them that Jesus, The Christ,
came into this world by water and blood.
The water signifies The Holy Spirit, and the blood signifies His human
side, as He was a unique combination of both.
There are three in heaven who bear record of this: God The Father, God
The Son, and God The Holy Spirit. These
three are one and the same person. (1 John 5:6-12) John states that he is writing these things
to them so that they will know that all believers will have eternal life. (1
John 5:13)
APPLICATION
Non-Christians
do not like this Bible verse because it clearly states that God The Father, and
God The Son, and God The Holy Spirit are one person. For some reason, this verse is omitted from some
versions of The Bible. The apostle John
makes it clear that Jesus is God. “In
the beginning was The Word, The Word was with God and The Word was God.” (John
1:1) In this verse says “The Word” which
refers to Jesus, The Christ, The Son of God.
To clarify this, John later stated that “The Word was made flesh and
dwelt among them.” (John 1:14) Jesus,
The Christ, Himself said that He and God The Father are one. (John 10:30) Christ said if you believe in God then
believe in Him also. (John 14:1)
Salvation is based upon belief in Christ.
