"Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with The Spirit have their minds set on what The Spirit desires. The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by The Spirit is life and peace ... And if The Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you." The Apostle Paul said, in his letter to the Christians in Rome, that The Holy Spirit lives within each believer.
Once we accept Christ as our personal Savior, the Holy Spirit indwells us. Because The Spirit of God is within us, we can manifest righteousness and produce good fruit. It is the Spirit who gives us the power to do the will of God, and it is The Spirit that convicts us when we choose to do wrong. Our spiritual nature is constantly fighting with our physical nature for the control of our mind. It is The Spirit that brings to our remembrance The Word of God and the teachings of Jesus.
