We really ought to be very careful about what we say. Our words are very powerful. We can help or hurt someone with our words. We often say things without thinking.
Some people say, "Lord, have mercy" as just a phrase in their casual conversation. But when we really need God's help, we ought to pray that short, powerful prayer. "Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in the time of need." Hebrews 4:16
Don' just say things, especially negative things, about yourself or others. Speak positively, call or speak things that are not, as though they already are. There is power in the words of a Christian.
Maybe your problem is "... you have not because you ask not." James 4:2 But be careful what you ask for. Ask for things that will help you give God glory.
