"Wait for The LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for The LORD." Psalms 27:14 (NIV)
In this psalm King David presents his priviledges, his problems, and his perseverance. He ends this psalm with a plea for the people to be of good courage, to be patient, and to wait on The Lord.
We are such an impatient people. We want what we want, when we want it, which is usually right now. However, we are not in control of things, God is in control. Everything that happens does so according to His plan and according to His time frame. We need to learn or to develop patience. God has planned a time for every thing, and all things will take place at their appointed time. (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8) The will of God will be done on earth as it is in heaven. (Matthew 6:10) We should pray that we will have the wherewithall to accept His will and His time table. Be patient, keep the faith, and "... wait, I say, on The LORD." (Psalms 27:14 KJV)
