"As God's fellow workers we urge you not to receive God's grace in vain. For He says, 'In the time of My favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.' I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation." 2 Corinthians 6:1-2 (NIV)
In his letter to the Corinthians, the Apostle Paul advised them not to take God's grace for granted. He quoted the scriptures to them, reciting Isaiah 49:8, and informed them that even though they had not accepted Him, God heard them, blessed them, and helped them. He also said that now is the time for them to repent and be saved, while they had the opportunity.
God blesses all of us. He lets the sun shine and the rain fall on the just and the unjust, on saints and sinners, on the good and the bad. (Matthew 5:45) There are some blessings that are reserved only for believers. (Psalms 1:1-2) However, there will come a time when non-believers will have to pay for their non-belief. (Romans 14:12) Non-believers only have a limited time to accept Jesus, for tomorrow is not promised to us. It is our job to to spread the good news, to tell them about Jesus, and to live in such a way that they can see the influence of Jesus on our behavior and our conversation.
