"For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline." 2 Timothy 1:7 (NIV)
In one of his letters to Timothy, the Apostle Paul said that God did not make them to be timid and fearful. They were to exercise the spirit of power, love, and self control.
We are to be bold and knowledgeable when we speak of and from The Word of God. We are not to be timid, weak, or cowardly when we spread the good news of the gospel. Our boldness is due to the enwelling of The Holy Spirit and His strength when we speak His truth. We need to read The Word of God so that when we speak, we can speak from knowledge and not from hearsay. We must recognize that our strength, our self-control, and our capacity to love all come from Him. As believers are His messengers to the world and we need to do a good job.
