"But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying The Lord that brought them..." 2 Peter 2:1
There were false prophets back then and there are false prophets among us today. Every thing that you hear or read is not the truth. We must all read and study the Bible ourselves to be sure that we are not being led astray by a false prophet or teacher. Just because you heard it in church during a sermon or lesson does not make it true.
Many people will follow these false prophets straight to hell. Don't be one of them. Compare what you hear to what the Bible says, then follow the direction of the Bible.
