"This is what The Lord says, He who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters ... Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland." Isaiah 43:16 & 18-19 (NIV)
After Israel and Judah, weakened by years of idolatry and corruption, were conquered and captured by the Assyrians and the Babylonians, the prophet Isaiah told the people that The Lord will make a way for them to be released and restored.
The Lord who made a way out of trouble for us in the past, will make a way for us out of our present circumstance and situation. "... He who made a way ..." said "... I am making a way ..." This applied to God's people then and it applies to God's people today. He also said that He will do "a new thing" meaning that He will do something new, different, bigger, better, than He has done in the past. So when we pray for His help, we should believe that we will receive, and prepare for even bigger blessings than we have all ready received. The Lord will make a way for us and He will provide for us.
