"Therefore this is what The Lord says: 'If you repent, I will restore you that you may serve Me; if you utter worthy, not worthless, words, you will be My spokesman. Let this people turn to you, but you must not turn to them." Jeremiah 15:19 (NIV)
This was what The Lord said to the prophet Jeremiah when he questioned Him during one of his periods of self pity. Repent and I will restore you, and use you as My spokesman, and to be an example to the people.
We need to be in continual repentance daily for our sinful thoughts, words, and deeds. God will forgive us if we pray and ask for forgiveness, and if we repent and turn from our sinful ways. Our idle worthless words and our evil sinful thoughts are an abomination to God. We must repent to restore our fellowship with The Lord so that He can use us to spread His Holy Word and be an example to the people of the world.
