"Comfort, comfort My people, says your God ... Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain. And the glory of The Lord will be revealed ... The Lord is the everlasting God, The Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in The Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:1, 4-5 & 28-31 (NIV)
In this chapter Isaiah describes the power of God. He comforts the people by explaining what God had done and what He can do for them. All they have to do is have faith in God.
The same applies to us today. God is still all powerful and He is in control. No matter what is happening in our lives, we need to have faith in God. For as He works things out for us, His glory will be revealed to us. He knows what we need when things are getting us down and He can strengthen us. All we need to do is have faith and continue to hope in The Lord.
