"Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him." James 1:12 (NIV)
James, the half brother of Jesus who became a pillar of the early Church, wrote that the man who keeps the faith while going through trials and tribulations will pass his test and be blessed. He will receive the crown that God has promised to give to all those who love Him.
Perseverance is important, he that endures to the end shall be saved. (Matthew 10:22) Let us never get tired of doing good. (Galatians 6:9) We must be faithful until the end. (1 Corinthians 4:2) By maintaining our faith in Jesus, The Christ, as we successfully negotiate the trials of this life, believers will be rewarded with the gift of eternal life. Our goal is not to receive the accolades of man. Our goal is the hear the words: "well done, good and faithful servant" when we stand before The Lord. Keep the faith and be blessed. (2 Timothy 1:13 and Titus 3:8)
