Jesus Prayed For Us

"My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in Me through their message ..." John 17:20 (NIV)

In the garden, just before He was betrayed by Judas and arrested, Jesus prayed for Himself (John 17:1-2), for His disciples (John 17:6-9), and He prayed for us as He prayed for all believers (John 17:20-22).

When Jesus prayed for us, He prayed that as believers we would be unified in Him. That unifying bond is belief in The Word of God. That we may let the world know that Jesus is The Son of God. He also prayed that we would some day see Him in all of His glory. That belief will allow us to have eternal life and to see Him in all of His glory. Jesus also prayed for us as He prayed for His disciples that God The Father would keep them and us "from the evil one." This prayer was also for our protection from Satan and all of his wicked forces and demons. To receive the blessings that Jesus prayed for, all we have to do is believe.
