We Are All Priests

"Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ." 1 Peter 2:5

Most Christians do not realize that all of us are part of the 'holy priesthood'. We are all to go forth and tell the dying world about a living Saviour according to the great commission, Matthew 28:19-20. Read 1 Peter 2:9. It clearly states that we are "a chosen generation, a royal priesthood ... called ... out of darkness into His marvelous light."

We are living stones that are used to build a 'spiritual house', the church of God. Each of us has a part to play and a role to fill in kingdom building here on earth. "As 'believer-priests' we are chosen, cleansed, and we are called, clothed, anointed, and prepared for service to honor and walk with God." (MacArthur)

Our 'spiritual sacrifices' are our God-honoring work done with the help of The Holy Spirit because of what Jesus Christ did for us.
