"Behold, what manner of love The Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God; therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew Him not.
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be; but we know that, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is.
And every man that hath this hope in Him purifieth himself, even as He is pure." 1 John 3:1-3
God loves us enough that, because of our belief in His Son, Jesus Christ, we too are considered sons of God. Once we accepted Christ, we were given a new, heavenly nature, a nature that is foreign to this world, making us 'aliens'. We are in this world, but not of this world.
While we were changed into a new creature the moment that we believed, our nature becomes more like His nature as we grow in knowledge and holiness and display Christian behavior. This transformation and purification will not be complete until we see Him, face to face.
Our Heavenly Father loves us, and will take care of us. So pray to Him, praise Him, thank Him and don't worry about a thing. Remember, we are His children and we ought to act like it.
