PROCLAMATION
“No weapon forged
against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses
you. This is the heritage of the
servants of The Lord …” Isaiah 54:17 (NIV)
EXPLANATION
These are the words of The Lord God which were spoken to the people of Israel through the prophet Isaiah as a prediction of things to come. He said that the church will increase and grow by conversion and conviction as multitudes of Jews and Gentiles join the church and increase in their knowledge of God and holiness. (Isaiah 54:1-3) The Lord God swore to the people that He would never again depart from them. (Isaiah 54:9-10) All of the new Christians would learn of The Lord God and He promises them protection, safety, and security. (Isaiah 54:13-15) He promises His servants that no weapon made to be used against them will be successful, and that anyone who speaks against them will be condemned.

APPLICATION
When all is
considered, said, and done, The Lord God has promised us that all of the people
who oppose His people will lose. We, the
people of God, have already been assured of the victory. (1 Corinthians
15:57) Man can do nothing unless God
gives him the power. (Isaiah 54:16 and Acts 17:28) Man himself, and all that he builds, is subject
to the will of God. As believers we are
protected within the hand of God, and no one or thing can harm us or remove us
from His hand. (John 10:28-29) For this
we ought to be truly thankful and grateful.
