"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)
In his letter to the believers in Philippi, the Apostle Paul wrote that they should not worry about anything, but that they should pray about everything. He also told them that if they prayed about everything, that the peace of God would guard their hearts and minds.
Believers are encouraged to pray often to The Lord God. (Luke 18:1 and 21:36) We should come into His presence with thanksgiving. (Psalms 95:2, Psalms 100:4, and Colossians 4:2) We are to make our requests known to Him, for He hears to prayers of the righteous. (1 Peter 3:12) We need not worry, or be anxious, or be fearful about anything, for everything is under His control. (Job 1:6-12) The Lord God did not give us a spirit of fear. (2 Timothy 1:7) If we truly love The Lord, then we should not fear anything because true love casts out fear. (1 John 4:18) Worry and fear suggests a lack of trust in The Lord. Whatever our concerns or desires, we are to take them to The Lord in prayer, and leave them with Him.
