"A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold." Proverbs 22:1 (NIV)
King Solomon, the wisest man ever, states that having a good reputation is much more important than having wealth.
We should do all that we can to protect our good name and reputation. The best way to do that is to be obedient to The Word of God. Following His guidance and direction will keep us doing and saying the right thing. If we love our fellow man as we love ourselves, then we will always do right by him. (Leviticus 19:18, Matthew 19:19, Matthew 22:39, Mark 12:31, & Luke 10:27) The Bible teaches us to do unto others as we would have them to do unto us. (Matthew 7:12) Living our lives in such a manner will keep our good name and reputation in tact. One lost, a good name and reputation is very hard, if not impossible, to regain. A good name and reputation cannot be bought.
