All Of Us Are Sinners

It does not matter how good we think that we are, we all sinners. We all need to repent and ask God for forgiveness.

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

If you think that this does not apply to you, read Romans 1:18-3:20, which lists the sins of mankind. All of us are sinners, but some of us are just sinners who have been saved by the grace of God.

Jesus Is Coming Back

"After He said this, He was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid Him from their sight. They were looking intently up into the sky as He was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. 'Men of Galilee,' they said, 'why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into the heaven.'" Acts 1:9-11 (NIV)

"... I am going to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am..." John 14:1-4 (NIV)

"For The Lord Himself will come down from heaven ... we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet The Lord in the air ..." (the rapture) 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (NIV)

One day Jesus Christ will return to earth in the same manner as He ascended into the clouds. This is referred to as "The Second Coming of Christ". We all better get ready.

Some Blessings Are Meant To Be Shared

Some of the blessings that we receive are given to us to share with others. Jesus told His disciples, and the Pharisees who were nearby and listing, about "... a certain rich man ... and a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate ... desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table ..." Luke 16:19-31

The rich man lived well, but was tormented in death. The beggar was basically tormented in life, but received a place of honor in death.

The take home lesson is that those of us who have should share with those that have not. We will be judged and have to give an account for the way that we treat the less fortunate poor people that we encounter.

Give And Give Generously

"Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." Luke 6:38 (NIV)

As we give to others, that is how God will give to us. If we are generous with others, He will give to us a "good measure", not a meager amount. It will be "pressed down, shaken together", not full of air as some packages we purchase. Our blessings will be over flowing as if we do not have enough room to receive them.

If we give out in small portions, then our blessings will come to us in small portions. So, give, and give generously, and you will be abundantly blessed.

Jesus Christ Is God

"In the beginning was The Word, and The Word was with God, and The Word was God." "And The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us." John 1:1 & 1:14 (NIV)

Before there was time, space, and matter, The Word existed. The Word, the second person in The Holy Trinity, God The Son, was with God, the first person in The Holy Trinity, God The Father.

The Word, God The Son, Jesus Christ, was God. This point was made perfectly clear in verse 14. The Word put on flesh and humanity through the immaculate conception and dwelt among us as Jesus, The Christ.

Jesus, The Son of God, was God in the beginning, is God now, and always will be God forever.

Don't Do Things Just To Be Seen

"Everything they do is done for men to see ..." "For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted." Matthew 23:5 & 12 (NIV)

Some people do things just for show, to be seen by others, to draw attention to themselves, to make themselves appear to be much more important, greater, or whatever than they actually are. Don't do things just to be seen by men and praised by men. Do what you do because it is the right thing to do, not to get the praise of others for doing it.

Whatever we do should not be done to glorify ourselves in the eyes of others. We should do things in such a manner as to give God the glory. (Read Matthew 5:16)

Rewards For Faithful Service

"... Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!" Matthew 25:21 (NIV)

In this parable of the servants who were given talents by their master, each man who produced results was commended for faithful service during his masters absence.

Their reward, like our will be, was based upon their faithfulness, not upon their results. The man who received the five talents and the man who received the two talents both received the same reward.

Our faithful stewardship now, will result in rewards later on.
